Chapter 16
Embracing Nuanae's Art
Kabaari takes an interest in Nuanae's creative work, offering constructive feedback rather than criticism. He begins to see the value in his brother's unique perspective.
Kabaari found himself lingering at the doorway of Nuanae’s room, a space he usually bypassed with a dismissive glance, deeming it too cluttered with the detritus of his younger brother’s artistic endeavors. Today, however, a peculiar stillness had settled over the house, a quiet that Kabaari, despite his outward confidence, found oddly disquieting. The afternoon sun, slanting through the window, illuminated motes of dust dancing in the air and cast a warm glow on Nuanae’s focused profile. The painting itself was a riot of blues and greens, a swirling depiction of the forest bordering their village, rendered with a depth and texture Kabaari hadn’t expected. He’d always associated Nuanae with bright, almost childish, colors and simplified forms. This was different. This was… considered.
