Chapter 12
The Heart's True North
In the face of danger, Elias chooses to defend Phetheni. This act of selflessness and connection reveals a profound truth: happiness isn't found, it's made through love and sacrifice.
The air, thick and cloying, pulsed with a primal hunger. Ndabenzima, a writhing mass of shadows and gnashing teeth, loomed over them, its form shifting like smoke caught in a tempest. Now, faced with this monstrous embodiment of all his past failures, he understood. The compass hadn’t been pointing to a destination, but to a choice.
