Chapter 14: The Sanctum of Origins
Elara and her companions follow the silvery light through the catacombs, guided by the sixth spark. They discover a sealed door to the Sanctum of Origins, which opens only when Elara reads a passage from the New Bible. Inside, they find the oldest flame, but the seventh spark is missing. Elder Maeve reveals that the spark of unity must be created by all six sparks together. As they join hands, the flame rekindles and a hidden exit opens. However, Brother Thomas and guards arrive, forcing the group to flee through the new passage as the horn sounds ever closer.
The silvery light flickered at the far end of the chamber, casting long shadows on the dusty floor. Elara held the sixth spark close to her chest, its warmth steady against her palms. The others gathered behind her—Kael, Luca, Sofia, Lina, and Elder Maeve—their faces lit by the soft glow.
"Follow the light," Elder Maeve whispered. "It knows the way."
They moved forward, their footsteps echoing in the narrow corridor. The catacombs twisted and turned, lined with ancient carvings of flames and stars. The silvery light seemed to dance ahead, always just out of reach, guiding them deeper underground.
