A Feast of Thanks

Barnaby decided to host a grand feast for the entire village. Tables overflowed with delicious food, all thanks to the magical flower and Barnaby's boundless generosity. Everyone celebrated together.

Barnaby’s heart swelled like a summer berry, plump and bursting with joy. The little cottage, once a draughty shell, now stood sturdy and warm, its roof mended, its walls painted a cheerful blue. His own wardrobe, once threadbare and patched, was filled with soft woolens that kept the chill at bay. And his table, oh, his table! It groaned under the weight of hearty stews, crusty bread, and sweet berry pies. But even with all this newfound comfort, Barnaby’s greatest pleasure was not in what he possessed, but in what he could share.

He thought of his neighbors, the families who had shared his lean years, their faces etched with worry and their cupboards often bare. He remembered the gentle Mrs. Gable, who always offered him a cup of weak tea, even when she had little else. He recalled young Thomas, whose shoes were so worn the soles flapped with every step. These were the people who had smiled at him when the sun refused to shine, who had offered a comforting word when his spirits were low. Now, the sun was shining, and Barnaby’s heart sang with the desire to give back.

“A feast!” he declared to himself, his voice a warm rumble in the quiet cottage. “A grand feast for everyone!”
