Penny found herself staring at the address Leo had scribbled on a napkin, the ink slightly smudged as if he’d been in a hurry to escape another perfectly executed date. “Leo’s Labyrinth,” she muttered, the words tasting foreign and exciting on her tongue. It was a far cry from the usual haunts of her disastrous dating history – dimly lit bars where the only thing intoxicating was the regret, or sterile chain restaurants where the conversation felt as manufactured as the mashed potatoes. This was… an invitation. To his sanctuary.

The address led her not to a chic apartment building or a trendy loft, but to a charming, slightly ramshackle Victorian house on a tree-lined street that whispered of forgotten summers.
