The hall buzzed with a triumphant hum, a symphony of cheers and delighted squeals that vibrated through the very floorboards. Lekgetho G, the newly crowned champion of the Genius Games, stood on a makeshift podium, his tea towel cape fluttering heroically in the manufactured breeze of a nearby fan. He wasn't just holding a trophy; it was a shiny, golden testament to a day of brain-bending challenges, mischievous plots, and a truly spectacular wobbly tower.
Around him, his classmates, even the ones who hadn’t quite grasped how a tower could be intentionally unstable yet still stand, were beaming. Professor Nibbles, perched on Lekgetho’s shoulder, let out a series of happy squeaks that, to Lekgetho, sounded remarkably like, “Hooray! I told you that wobbly tower was a stroke of genius, my boy!”
But the real surprise, the one that made Lekgetho’s heart do a little jig of its own, was Grumbles. The grumpy boy, who had started the day with a scowl that could curdle milk, was standing near the front, a faint, almost imperceptible smile playing on his lips. He’d even managed a nod when Lekgetho had shared his victory with the entire class, not just a select few.
