Liam paced the small living room, his brow furrowed, a map spread out on the worn coffee table. Elara watched him, her heart a tight knot in her chest. They had the evidence, the irrefutable proof of Julian’s depravity, but getting it to the authorities, exposing him to the world, felt like an insurmountable task. Julian was a phantom, his influence woven into the very fabric of the city.

“We need to move tonight,” Liam said, his voice low and urgent. He tapped a point on the map. “There’s a private dock, less monitored than the usual ports. If we can get the ledger and the encrypted files onto a secure server before he realizes we’re gone…”

Elara swallowed, her throat dry. “He’ll be looking for me. He’ll know I’m not in the manor.”
