Chapter 64
Episode 64
The sterile white walls of the hospital room seemed to amplify the beeping of the machines, a constant, unnerving rhythm. Elara lay in the bed, her eyes fixed on the ceiling, a landscape of muted beige tiles. Liam sat beside her, his hand a warm anchor on hers, his presence a quiet balm against the storm raging within her. The betrayal, so sharp and unexpected, had left her reeling. The face of the supposed ally, the one who had fed them crucial information, now swam before her eyes, a mask of deceit. "He knew," she whispered, the words a dry rasp in her throat. Liam nodded, his brow furrowed in thought. "Which means we have to be smarter. We have to think like him." He paused, his thumb stroking the back of her hand. "He thrives on control, Elara. He likes to orchestrate everything. Our best weapon is spontaneity. Something he can't predict."
