Chapter 2
Chapter 2: The Scent of Lavender
The next few days were a masterclass in subtlety. Lila, ever the artist, painted her canvas with precision and care. She observed Janice like a hawk, noting every glance at her own feet, every sniff of the flip-flop's sole, every hesitation before taking a step. The lavender scent was doing its work, weaving its way into Janice's subconscious, creating a Pavlovian link between the smell and the feel of her own feet.
But Lila knew that simple conditioning wasn't enough. She needed something more visceral, more intimate. She needed to touch Janice, and she needed Janice to touch her back. The fake ankle injury had been a promising start, but it was only the first brushstroke. Now, she needed a masterpiece.
It came to her one morning as she watched Janice fumble with a paperclip. The way her fingers danced, the way she bit her lower lip in concentration—it was almost too perfect. Lila smiled, a plan forming in her mind. A plan that involved a very specific intervention, one that would bring Janice to her knees, literally.
The opportunity presented itself two days later. Janice had just finished a long phone call with a difficult client, and she looked exhausted. She leaned back in her chair, rubbing her temples with her fingers. Lila saw her chance.
"Tough day?" Lila asked, her voice dripping with false sympathy. She walked over to Janice's desk, her heels clicking a steady rhythm on the linoleum.
Janice sighed. "You have no idea. That client thinks I'm a mind reader."
"I know the type," Lila said, pulling up a chair. She sat down, her legs crossed elegantly, her left foot dangling in the air. The stiletto she wore today was a deep burgundy, almost black, with a silver buckle that caught the light. She made sure Janice could see it.
"I have a headache too," Lila continued. "I think it's the air in here. So dry."
Janice nodded absently, still rubbing her temples.
"You know what always helps me?" Lila said, leaning forward. "A foot massage. It releases all the tension in the body. You should try it."
Janice looked at her, a flicker of surprise crossing her face. "A foot massage? At work?"
"Why not?" Lila said. "I do it all the time. Here, let me show you."
Before Janice could protest, Lila reached down and slipped off her stiletto. She placed her bare foot on the edge of Janice's desk, her toes wiggling slightly. The foot was pale, smooth, with perfectly painted crimson toenails. It looked almost like a sculpture.
"Go ahead," Lila said, her voice soft and encouraging. "Just put your hands on it. You'll be amazed how relaxing it is."
Janice stared at the foot as if it were a live snake. "I don't think—"
"Please," Lila interrupted, her tone shifting to something more pleading. "I've been on my feet all morning, and I have another meeting in an hour. Just a quick massage. It would really help me."
Janice looked at the foot, then at Lila's face, then back at the foot. Her expression was a mixture of curiosity, suspicion, and something else—something that Lila couldn't quite identify. But she saw the hesitation, the crack in the wall. She pushed a little harder.
"I'll do your feet afterward," Lila said, a sly smile playing on her lips. "We'll trade."
That did it. Janice's eyes widened, and she let out a nervous laugh. "Okay, okay. Fine. Just for a minute."
She reached out and placed her hands on Lila's foot. Her touch was tentative at first, barely grazing the skin. But Lila guided her, showing her where to press, how to knead the arch, how to apply just the right amount of pressure. Lila closed her eyes, letting out a soft sigh of pleasure.
"That's perfect," she murmured. "You have a gift."
Janice continued the massage, her movements becoming more confident. Lila could feel the tension draining from her own body, replaced by a warm, electric sensation that spread up her leg. She opened her eyes and looked at Janice. The woman was focused on the task, her brow furrowed in concentration. Lila could see the sweat on her upper lip, the slight trembling of her hands.
"Now, it's your turn," Lila said, withdrawing her foot. She stood up and moved behind Janice's chair. "Take off your shoes."
Janice hesitated, then did as she was told. She slipped off the flip-flops—Lila's flip-flops—and placed them on the floor. Her feet were pale, the toes bare and unadorned. Lila felt a thrill run through her. This was the moment she had been waiting for. The moment of intimacy, of power.
She knelt down and took Janice's left foot in her hands. The skin was cool, the arch high and slender. Lila began to massage, using the same techniques she had taught Janice. She pressed her thumbs into the sole, working out the tension. She stroked the toes, one by one, feeling them relax. She lingered on the ball of the foot, applying pressure in slow, circular motions.
Janice let out a low moan. "Oh, that feels amazing."
"I know," Lila said, her voice barely a whisper. "Feet are so important. They carry us everywhere, but we never take care of them."
She continued the massage, moving to the other foot. Janice's head lolled back, her eyes half-closed. Lila could see the trust building, the walls coming down. It was almost too easy.
But as Lila worked, she noticed something. Janice's feet were starting to change. The skin was becoming red, irritated. Small blisters were forming on the heels. The lavender-scented flip-flops were having an unexpected side effect: they were rubbing against Janice's skin, causing friction and chafing.
Lila paused. This was a problem. She needed Janice's feet to be perfect, not damaged. She needed them to be a canvas for her art, not a battlefield of pain. But then, a new idea formed in her mind. An idea that was even more delicious, more insidious.
She looked up at Janice, who was now nearly asleep, her breathing slow and steady. Lila leaned in close, her lips brushing against Janice's ear.
"Janice, your feet are looking a little irritated," she whispered. "I have a cream at my desk that can help. A special cream. It will soothe them, make them soft again. Would you like me to get it?"
Janice nodded, still half-asleep. "Sure, thanks."
Lila stood up and walked to her desk, her heart pounding with excitement. She opened her bottom drawer and pulled out a small jar. The cream inside was a mixture of shea butter, lavender oil, and something else—something she had added herself. A mild numbing agent. It would make Janice's feet feel wonderful, but it would also make her less aware of what was happening to them. Less aware of the control Lila was exerting.
She returned to Janice and knelt down again. She opened the jar and scooped out a generous amount of cream. She applied it to Janice's feet, slowly, lovingly, massaging it into every crevice. The cream was cool and smooth, and Janice sighed with pleasure.
"That's better," she murmured.
"Much better," Lila agreed.
She finished the application and sat back, admiring her work. Janice's feet were now glistening with cream, the redness fading, the blisters starting to shrink. They looked almost perfect. But Lila knew that this was only the beginning. The cream would wear off, and the irritation would return. And then, Janice would need more. More cream, more massages, more attention. She would become dependent on Lila, addicted to the feeling of being cared for.
Lila smiled. The game was moving in the right direction. Janice was no longer just a coworker; she was a project, a masterpiece in the making. And Lila was the artist, the sculptor, the puppeteer.
As Janice drifted off to sleep, her head resting on her desk, Lila stood up and looked down at her. The flip-flops were still on the floor, the lavender scent still lingering in the air. Lila picked them up and examined them. The soles were still sticky, the wax still working. But now, there was something else. A faint trace of the cream, transferred from Janice's feet to the shoes. A physical connection, a thread that bound them together.
Lila tucked the flip-flops into her bag. She would clean them later, reapply the wax, and return them to Janice's desk. But for now, she had something else to do. She had a new intervention to plan.
She walked back to her own desk, her heels clicking a triumphant rhythm. She pulled out a notebook and began to write. The plan was simple, elegant, and utterly devious. It involved a spilled drink, a wet floor, and a pair of very expensive shoes. It would be a spectacle, a performance that would leave Janice breathless and begging for more.
Lila wrote for an hour, her pen moving across the page with the precision of a surgeon. When she was done, she leaned back and read over her notes. The plan was perfect. It would be the final stroke, the moment that would cement her control over Janice Henderson.
But as she closed the notebook, she heard a sound. A soft, muffled cry. She looked up and saw Janice stirring in her sleep, her feet twitching, her face contorted in a grimace. The cream was wearing off. The irritation was returning.
Lila smiled. The game was about to enter a new phase. And Janice had no idea what was coming next. She was already underfoot, but soon, she would be completely, utterly, and irrevocably under Lila's control.
The clock on the wall ticked forward, marking the seconds until the next intervention. Lila watched it, counting down. The fun was just beginning.
