The sunbeams, like golden ribbons, danced across the page, illuminating the friendly, dotted outline of a big, bold letter. “Look!” a warm voice, as comforting as a hug, whispered. “It’s time to meet another friend. This one is called ‘B’!” A little hand, still a bit wobbly, reached out, its tiny fingers eager to trace.

“See this tall, straight line?” the voice continued, guiding the finger gently. “That’s the start of our B. It’s like standing up as tall as you can. Can you feel how straight it is?” The finger followed the dotted line downwards, a satisfyingly smooth journey. “Now,” the voice chirped, a hint of excitement bubbling in its tone, “we have these lovely, round tummies. One, two! They hug the straight line, don’t they? Like a little bear giving it a cuddle.”

The child’s tongue poked out in concentration, a common sign of deep focus. The pencil, held with a determined grip, moved across the paper, connecting the dots. The first ‘B’ was a little bumpy, a little uneven, but it was undeniably a ‘B’. A proud smile spread across the child’s face, a little triumph shining in their eyes.
