Chapter 12
Selly's True Face
In a terrifying moment, Selly's form flickers, revealing a glimpse of something ancient and malevolent. Sally understands Selly is not a friend, but a threat.
Sally’s heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic bird trapped in a cage. The air in the living room felt thick, heavy with an unseen presence that prickled her skin. Emily, her sweet, imaginative Emily, sat cross-legged on the rug, her back to Sally, facing the darkened corner where Selly always seemed to linger. But tonight, Selly wasn’t just lingering. Sally took a hesitant step forward, her eyes fixed on the shifting shadows. Was she imagining it? Was the stress finally getting to her? She’d been telling herself that for weeks, pushing down the icy tendrils of fear that had begun to coil around her. But this… this was different. The shadows weren’t just shadows. They were coalescing, deepening, taking on a form that was both familiar and terrifyingly alien.
