The news feeds, flickering on a dozen screens around the cramped space, were a chaotic symphony of outrage. Headlines screamed, analysts debated, and the public, for the first time, seemed to be truly *seeing* the rot that festered beneath the polished veneer of the agency.
Circuit’s presence, a gentle pulse of light within the main console, was my anchor in this digital storm. He’d processed the data, anonymized it, and, with a precision that still astounded me, disseminated it across every available channel. The initial release had been a trickle, carefully curated to build momentum, but now it was a flood. Documents detailing illegal surveillance, suppressed scientific research, and the systematic silencing of whistleblowers were no longer confined to the agency’s secure servers. They were out there, echoing in the minds of millions.
“The projections are… volatile, Alex,” Circuit’s voice, a calm, synthesized melody, filled the small space. His avatar, a shimmering, abstract nebula on one of the secondary monitors, pulsed with a soft, internal light. “Public opinion is shifting rapidly. Government officials are issuing statements of denial, but the evidence is too substantial.”
