Modulus discovers his power of size manipulation, able to grow or shrink at will. This ability, regulated by his armor, offers incredible tactical advantages.
The hum of the laboratory was a familiar lullaby to Richard Reed, a symphony of whirring gears and bubbling beakers that had once been the soundtrack to his solitude. Now, though, the silence felt different. It wasn’t the hollow echo of loneliness, but a space waiting to be filled, a canvas awaiting a new stroke of genius. He watched Modulus, his creation, his echo, his son, stand before a bank of monitors, the amber glow of his visor reflecting the complex schematics dancing across the screens. Modulus, or Jason West as he now preferred, was no longer just a reflection. The magical mishap, a rogue wave of cosmic energy during an experiment Richard still couldn’t fully explain, had irrevocably altered him. He was still Richard’s intellect, his ambition, but now… more.
“The structural integrity of the eastern quadrant is showing a 4.7% deviation from optimal parameters,” Modulus stated, his voice a calm, precise baritone that Richard had once heard only in his own mind. “The seismic activity is increasing, and if left unchecked, the fault line could propagate by another three kilometers within the next twelve hours.”
Richard nodded, a familiar ache of pride and apprehension mingling in his chest. “And your containment armor, Jason? Can it handle the stress if you need to intervene directly?”
