The fluorescent lights of the therapy room hummed with a familiar, almost comforting, monotony. Agnes Periwinkle, seated with the rigid posture of a soldier awaiting inspection, clutched her pristine white handkerchief, its edges folded into impossibly sharp points. Across from her, Bartholomew ‘Barty’ Bumble fidgeted, his left hand twitching with an independent spirit that Agnes found deeply unsettling. Beside him, Penelope ‘Penny’ Pumpernickel, adorned in a jaunty bowler hat adorned with a single, bright red feather, leaned forward, her eyes wide with an almost childlike earnestness. Dr. Anya Sharma, a picture of serene patience, sat behind her desk, a steaming mug of what Agnes suspected was chamomile tea (though Anya had once, during a particularly chaotic session, admitted to a hint of lavender) held delicately in her hand.

“So, Penny,” Dr. Sharma began, her voice a soft balm against the room’s ambient hum, “you mentioned last week that you had something… a revelation, you called it? Something you needed to share with the group.”

Penny’s gaze flickered around the room, settling briefly on Agnes’s handkerchief, which she seemed to regard with a knowing nod. “Yes, Dr. Sharma. It’s about Reginald.”
