Chapter 15
The Battle for Love
The sorcerer unleashes his full power. Florinda, fueled by her love for Lysander and the forest spirits' aid, fights back with all her might. Magic clashes, light against shadow, in a desperate struggle.
The air in the sorcerer’s desolate chamber crackled with an oppressive energy, thick and suffocating like a shroud woven from despair. Lysander, bound by chains forged from shadow itself, watched with a heart heavy with dread as Florinda faced the architect of their torment. The sorcerer, a gaunt figure cloaked in robes the color of a starless night, stood before her, his eyes burning with a malevolent glee that chilled Lysander to the bone. He had felt the stirrings of dark magic before, a subtle unease that had followed him from his own kingdom, but this… this was a storm unleashed.
“So, the little village girl finally shows her true colors,” the sorcerer hissed, his voice like dry leaves skittering across stone. He extended a skeletal hand, and the air around Florinda shimmered, a faint, golden light pulsing beneath her skin. “Such power, dormant for so long. It’s a pity you’ve wasted it on tending to flowers and mending cloth.”
Florinda, though her knees trembled and her breath hitched, stood tall. The fear that had threatened to consume her moments ago was now a fierce, protective fire. Lysander’s pained gaze, his silent plea, was a beacon in the encroaching darkness. The whispers of the forest spirits, once soft murmurs of encouragement, now echoed in her mind, a symphony of ancient strength. Remember, child. Love is the purest magic. Nature’s fury is your ally.
