Chapter 8
A Tiny Treasure Box
Inside the compartment, Leo finds a small, dusty wooden box. It’s locked, but Leo feels a spark of excitement. What could be inside? He looks at Mommy and Daddy, his eyes wide with anticipation.
Leo’s fingers, still dusted with the faint scent of old wood and forgotten things, traced the edge of the newly discovered compartment. It was tucked away behind a loose panel in the wall, a secret that had been waiting, patiently, for someone to find it. Mommy had squeezed his shoulder, a silent cheer, while Daddy had leaned closer, his eyes twinkling with the same kind of excitement that bubbled inside Leo’s own chest. The air in the little nook felt thick with anticipation, a hushed stillness that seemed to hold its breath.

A map to buried treasure, like Daddy had sometimes talked about from old pirate stories. Or perhaps it was a collection of tiny, sparkling jewels, hidden away by a princess long ago. Or maybe, just maybe, it was a key. A key to a secret room, or a hidden garden, or a passage that led to a whole other world. He pictured himself, brave and bold, turning that key, the heavy door creaking open to reveal wonders untold.
