Chapter 5
A Peculiar Peek

Sunlight, thin and pale, sliced through a tall window at the far end of the hall, illuminating dancing dust motes. It was a house full of secrets, he could feel it. His heart thumped a little faster, a mixture of excitement and a flutter of unease. What was hiding in those shadows? What was waiting behind those closed doors?
