Chapter 6
The Moment of Truth
With time dwindling, Maya must make a profound choice. Will she embrace the unknown and potentially find peace, or cling to the fragments of her past, however painful?

Then it escalated, morphing into demands, pronouncements, a constant pressure to bend to his will. He chipped away at her independence, her friendships, her very sense of self, until she felt like a fragile bird trapped in a gilded cage, beautiful from the outside, but slowly suffocating within.
