The air in Mary’s shop, usually vibrant with the hum of creativity and the gentle purr of Snowy, now felt thick with a different kind of energy. Justice, swift and sparkling, had been served. Mary, her heart a mixture of relief and a lingering resolve, held the small, glowing magic wand, its power now a familiar warmth in her hand. Beside her, Shimmer, Shine, and Sweetie, their tiny forms radiating a soft, approving light, watched as Lucy and Rosy, their earlier bravado completely deflated, stood subdued. The punishment Mary had meted out was fair, a consequence for their attempt to sabotage her dreams, but it was also tempered with the understanding that even those who strayed deserved a chance to learn.

"You will work," Mary announced, her voice steady, "and you will work here, in my shop. You will learn the true value of creation, the joy of bringing something beautiful into the world with your own hands, not by stealing it." She gestured around the space, at the bolts of fabric, the mannequins draped in half-finished garments, the sketches pinned to the wall. "For the next year, you will assist me. You will learn to sew, to design, to respect the craft. And your wages will be sent directly to support the families you tried to harm with your deceit."

Lucy and Rosy, their faces pale, could only nod, the weight of their actions finally settling upon them. Alex, standing a little to the side, offered Mary a proud smile, his hand finding hers. Mickey, oblivious to the gravity of the moment, chased a dust bunny across the floor, his happy yips a stark contrast to the somber atmosphere. Starry, perched on a high shelf, blinked her brown eyes, a silent observer to the unfolding scene.
