Chapter 4
The Reluctant Guide
Lost and despairing, Luna stumbles upon Xylo, a cynical figure cloaked in shadows. He seems unimpressed by her plight but offers cryptic advice, warning her of the Underworld's many dangers and inhabitants.

A sob escaped her, a small, choked sound that she quickly stifled, afraid of attracting unwanted attention. This place was filled with things that wanted to hurt her. She knew that much.
It was then, as she squeezed her eyes shut, trying to conjure the image of a sunbeam, that she heard it. Not the skittering of insects or the low growl of some unseen beast, but footsteps. Slow, deliberate, and accompanied by the faint jingle of what sounded like small, metallic charms. Her eyes snapped open.
