The air still hung heavy with the scent of brine and damp earth, a mournful perfume left by the storm’s passage. Yet, within the shattered heart of Kalagi, a new fragrance was beginning to bloom: the sweet, tenacious scent of unity. It was a scent born of shared hardship, of outstretched hands and whispered words of comfort, and most powerfully, of Lumu’s unwavering presence.

He moved through the makeshift camps, his massive frame a comforting, solid presence against the backdrop of ruin. His voice, usually resonant with the fervor of impassioned speeches, was now a soothing balm, offering quiet reassurance to those who had lost everything. He didn’t just direct; he worked. He helped clear debris, his powerful hands lifting timbers that would have crushed lesser men. He sat with families, listening to their stories of loss, his gaze steady and empathetic, offering not pity, but a shared understanding of their pain.

The storm had stripped away the artifice, the pretense, the petty squabbles that had so often divided them. It had laid bare the raw, vulnerable heart of the island, and in that vulnerability, Lumu had found his truest strength. She saw it in the way Kael, his face etched with exhaustion but his spirit unbent, worked tirelessly alongside Lumu, their shared purpose a silent testament to their bond. Kael, who had lost his own small dwelling to the surging waters, now helped secure temporary shelter for others, his practical skills a vital asset.
