“I… I understand, Milano,” she whispered, her voice barely a breath. She reached out, her fingers tracing the line of his jaw, a gesture of reassurance that spoke volumes. “You were scared. And I… I reacted out of my own fear, my own pain.”
Milano leaned into her touch, his eyes closing for a brief moment, savoring the warmth and acceptance. When he opened them, the intensity was back, but it was tempered with a newfound tenderness. He brought her hand to his lips, pressing a kiss to her knuckles. “I love you, Kiara,” he said, the words a solemn vow. “More than I ever thought possible. And I want our child. I want our future, whatever it holds.”
