The dust motes danced in the slivers of sunlight that pierced the canopy, each tiny speck a universe unto itself, born of a moment and destined to fade. Zion watched them, his breath soft, a quiet hum in the vast cathedral of the forest. It had been a long road, a winding, treacherous path that had begun with a whisper of want and had led him through fire and shadow, betrayal and unwavering loyalty. He had faced down the Weaver, not with steel, but with a clarity forged in the crucible of his experiences. The fear of a borrowed life, that gnawing unease that had shadowed him since he was a boy admiring the distant gleam of unattainable stars, had finally begun to recede.

Elara sat beside him, her gaze serene as she traced patterns in the moss with a slender finger. Her presence was a balm, a quiet strength that had anchored him through the stormiest seas. "They are beautiful, aren't they?" she murmured, her voice like the rustle of leaves. "Each one a tiny testament to existence."

Zion nodded, a slow smile spreading across his face, a smile that reached his eyes and chased away the last lingering shadows. "They are. And they don't fret about how long they'll last. They just… are."
