Here fishy fishy, come and play with me, I have my bamboo pole, happy as can be! The water’s cool, a gentle, rippling stream, Reflecting skies, a perfect, sunny dream.

My little hands, they grip the slender wood, A patient wait, misunderstood By busy squirrels and chirping birds on high, They don't know the magic in my eye.

I watch the surface, where the dragonflies, With wings like jewels, dance before my eyes. A tiny ripple, then a sudden twitch, My heart beats fast, oh what a lucky hitch!
