A Sky Full of Wonder

Ariyah hugged Teddy close, his soft fur a familiar comfort against her cheek. Her bright red ball lay nearby, ready for a game of bounce and roll, but her attention was no longer on her cherished toys. Her gaze was fixed on the window, her eyes wide with a new kind of wonder. Just a little while ago, a flash of brown and a flutter of wings had caught her attention, and Mom had explained that it was a bird. Now, more birds, big and small, were flitting from branch to branch in the tall oak tree outside, their chirps a cheerful melody that filled the air.

"Mommy," Ariyah whispered, her voice filled with awe. "The birds… they’re flying!"

Mom smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners. She knelt beside Ariyah, her arm wrapping gently around her daughter’s shoulders. "They are, my sweet girl. Aren’t they magnificent?"
