She spends the day with the forest animals, helping them with various tasks and deepening her bonds with them. Professor Hoot tells her that she has found her place, and Lily realizes that she is no longer just a robot from a box; she is a part of the forest family. The chapter ends with Lily feeling complete and happy, knowing she is home.
7. 7Chapter 7: I'm Not Going BackA drone from the cargo company arrives in the forest searching for Lily. With the help of her friends, Lily hides, but when the drone finds her, she bravely tells it she belongs in the forest. The drone leaves, and Lily feels more certain than ever that she is home.
8. 8The StormA storm hits the forest, and Lily discovers a lost human child. She helps the child find shelter with the animal community, learning that her home includes humans too.
