The sun, a gentle painter, began its slow descent, casting long, golden fingers across the fields that had once seemed so barren to my young eyes. Now, they shimmered with a life I hadn't noticed before, a quiet testament to the abundance that had been there all along, waiting to be seen. My gaze, however, was not fixed on the earth beneath my feet, nor on the familiar, comforting landscape of my earthly home. Instead, it lifted, drawn by an invisible thread, to the vast, endless expanse of the sky, to the horizon where the heavens met the earth in a soft, ethereal blur. It was there, in that distant, luminous place, that my heart now found its true north, its ultimate destination. The promise of being home, of being eternally embraced in His love, was no longer a distant hope, but a vibrant, living reality that colored every moment of my days.

It had been a journey, a winding path from the parched desperation of my youth to this place of quiet certainty. I remembered the early days, the raw, untamed thirst that had driven me, a thirst no earthly well could ever quench. It was a gnawing emptiness, a hollow ache that echoed in the chambers of my soul, whispering doubts and fears into the quiet spaces of my mind.
