Sophia's classical training and opera singing continued to dominate the pageant circuit, leaving a trail of envious contestants and frustrated mothers in her wake. As her reputation grew, so did the lengths to which her competitors would go to try and match her talents.
The dressing rooms backstage had become a battleground of sorts, with racks upon racks of gowns lining the walls. It seemed as though every contestant had brought an entire wardrobe, each dress more extravagant than the last. Sophia couldn't help but smirk at the sight of what she privately dubbed "the ten thousand dresses."
One mother, in particular, had become notorious for her attempts to outdo Sophia. At every pageant, she would arrive with her daughter and an entourage of stylists, each carrying garment bags filled with custom-made gowns. The dresses sparkled with thousands of hand-sewn sequins and crystals, each one designed to catch the stage lights in just the right way.
