Chapter 16
A Journal's Secrets
Amy discovers Grandpa Bob's journal. Its pages reveal his knowledge of a 'visitor' and his efforts to protect the house from it.

Laura, a pale shadow herself, clutched his arm, her eyes wide and darting.
Amy shook her head, her attention still fixed on the book. “Just… old books. This one feels important, though.” She pulled it free, the leather creaking in protest. The cover was plain, devoid of any title, a stark contrast to the ornate bindings of its companions. It felt cool and smooth beneath her fingers.
