Chapter 4
The First Move
Gunns' men make their presence known, encroaching on Capone's turf. A minor scuffle erupts, a clear message sent. Capone's lieutenant advises caution, but Capone's anger simmers.
The concrete jungle of Cypress City pulsed with a rhythm that only its true inhabitants understood, a low thrum of ambition, desperation, and the ever-present scent of impending trouble. King Capone, perched in his penthouse kingdom, felt that pulse beneath his polished loafers, a tremor that spoke of a new, unwelcome beat entering the familiar cadence. He gestured with a subtle nod towards the east side, a district that had always been a bedrock of Capone’s empire. “Gunns’ boys. Seen ‘em posted up near the corner of Elm and Third. Haven’t touched anything, just… standing there. Like they own the damn place.”
