Chapter 17
Loyalty Tested
Capone confronts the YN who betrayed him. Justice is served, but the act leaves a bitter taste, highlighting the internal struggles that persist.
The air in the interrogation room was thick, stagnant, a suffocating blanket woven from desperation and the metallic tang of old blood. King Capone sat opposite the man who had once been a brother in arms, a trusted soldier in the YNs. The fluorescent light above hummed a sickly tune, casting harsh shadows that danced like specters on the grimy concrete walls. The man, whose name Capone barely remembered now, cowered, his eyes darting around the room as if seeking an escape that didn't exist.

He traced the rim of a chipped ceramic mug, the rough texture a stark contrast to the smooth, polished surface of his own authority. He’d always prided himself on his ability to read men, to gauge their loyalty, their breaking points. This one had broken, and in doing so, had fractured something within Capone himself.
The YN swallowed, his Adam's apple bobbing like a cork on a turbulent sea. "Capone... I..." His voice cracked, a pathetic squeak.
