The air throbbed, not with sound, but with the *feeling* of sound, a pressure building behind Elara’s eyes, a tremor in the soles of her feet. It was a bass note, a subterranean rumble that vibrated through the very marrow of her bones. This wasn't the ethereal shimmer of previous sonic landscapes, nor the jagged edges of dissonance. This was something primal, something ancient, a chord struck at the root of existence, and it was tearing through the fragile scaffolding of her perception.
