The air thrummed with an electric energy, a symphony of a thousand screaming fans and the pounding bass of a song I’d had on repeat for weeks. Lights pulsed, a kaleidoscope of dazzling colors painting the massive stadium, and the scent of popcorn mingled with the faint, sweet perfume of a million flowers. This was it. The Grand K-Pop Festival, the event of the year, and I was right in the heart of it, my face sticky with melted ice cream and my voice raw from cheering. Beside me, Zoey, looking impossibly cool in a sleek black jacket, mirrored my excitement, his eyes sparkling with the same infectious joy. We were just two fans lost in the magic, or so it seemed.
But beneath the surface of this joyous chaos, something else stirred. A darkness, a chilling premonition that had been a constant companion since Jaehyun had first whispered of the huntx world. It was a subtle thing, like a dissonant note in an otherwise perfect melody, but I felt it. The Shadow Demon. It craved this very energy, this intense outpouring of emotion, twisting it into something vile.
“Can you feel it, Rumi?” Zoey’s voice, usually so smooth, had a sharp edge to it. He wasn't looking at the stage, but scanning the crowd, his gaze sharp and alert.
