Chapter 14
The Demon's Deceptive Dance
The Shadow Demon uses illusions and despair to weaken the huntxs. It preys on Rumi's insecurities and Jaehyun's past trauma, attempting to fracture their resolve.
The air in the abandoned theatre hung thick and heavy, a suffocating blanket woven from dust motes and the sickly sweet scent of decay. It could twist reality, turning every shadow into a lurking monster, every whisper into a cruel taunt. And it knew our weaknesses. It knew about my secret terror of not being good enough, of failing Jaehyun. It knew about the phantom pain that still haunted Jaehyun’s memories, the echoes of a past failure he rarely spoke of.
