Jude walked out of the courtroom a free man. The judge's words still hung in the air—"Do we have another Houdini?"—but Jude knew the truth. It was not sleight of hand. The cuffs had fallen off at the Lord's command. The lights had blinked yes. Jude had prayed heavily, and Jesus had answered. Now, stepping into the open air, Jude felt the weight of that presence. The Lord had fought for him, resurrected the man he had put to sleep, and commanded the judge to let him go. Jude walked on, carrying the certainty that the Lord was with him.
