A mountain’s silence is never truly silent. Past the archway, the hush took shape—breathing, shifting, as if the caves themselves listened. We stepped into blue-lit shadow, where every footfall struck crystal and the air tasted of snow and questions.
Ignis paused, nose twitching. “It smells like… winter in here. And maybe something else. Like…”
“Regret and cave mushrooms, I suspect,” I said. “Both best sampled sparingly.”
