JJ found Alex at breakfast. She put her hand on his shoulder. The touch lingered a half-second longer than it needed to. He felt it. He didn't say anything about it.
"The goat pen fence needs repair. The wire's loose in two places and one of the posts is rotted through. Can you handle it?"
