Maverick, Merrick, James, and Liz stood on the edge of campus, the notebook clutched tight in Maverick’s hand, its pages still faintly warm against his palm. The red armor of the Holy Spirit shimmered beneath his graduation robes, a stark contrast to the muted academic tones of their surroundings. Merrick, clad in her own nascent blue armor, her expression a mixture of apprehension and steely resolve, scanned the horizon. James, his eyes old and wise, surveyed the scene with a quiet intensity, while Liz, her own silvery armor a subtle gleam, stood by his side, a silent pillar of strength.

“They’re here,” James stated, his voice barely a whisper, yet it carried the weight of undeniable truth. “The Darkness doesn’t just seek the notebook’s maps; it craves knowledge. And Princeton, with its libraries and its history, is a treasure trove.”

Maverick’s gaze swept across the manicured lawns and stately buildings. He’d walked these paths as a student, dreaming of a future filled with academic pursuits, not celestial battles.
