Chapter 10
Breaking the Curse
With the ogre defeated, the curse on the Prince begins to lift. His true noble self emerges, and Jane's determination is rewarded. Their love solidifies in the face of shared danger.

Dust motes, disturbed by the violent tremors of their final struggle, danced in the shafts of sunlight that now pierced the gloom through newly revealed cracks in the stone. Jane, her heart still hammering a frantic rhythm against her ribs, watched as the ogre’s hulking form, once so terrifying, began to shimmer, a spectral haze consuming its rough features. The oppressive pallor that had clung to his skin was receding, replaced by a faint, healthy flush. His eyes, once clouded with a weariness that seemed to run bone-deep, now held a clarity, a sparkle that Jane hadn’t seen before.
"He's… he's gone," Jane whispered, the words feeling fragile in the sudden stillness. She stepped closer to the Prince, her gaze fixed on his face. "And the curse… it feels… lighter."
