The Seeker sat by the window, the glass cool against their forehead, tracing the rivulets of rain that distorted the already blurred landscape. Each drop was a tear, a silent testament to the sorrow that had become a constant companion. Hadn't they reached out? Hadn't they whispered pleas into the indifferent air? The memories of past comforts, of the solid ground beneath their feet when the earth seemed to tremble, felt like distant mirages, beautiful but unattainable. The weight of unanswered prayers pressed down, a heavy cloak woven from threads of fear and burgeoning hopelessness.
