The trees closed in around them as they pushed deeper into the woods. Marcus's arms ached from carrying the metal case, but he didn't dare slow down. Every snapped twig sounded like a gunshot.
“How much farther?” Maya whispered.
Thorne pointed ahead. “Half a mile. There's a ridge, then the cabin is in the hollow below.”
