Hola, New Beginning

Though still unable to speak the same language, Elara and Leo have found a way to communicate through actions, food, and shared laughter. Perhaps this strange land isn't so bad after all.

Princess Elara, adrift in a sea of chirping, nonsensical English, found herself staring at a rather peculiar contraption. It resembled a metal box, but instead of offering the comforting scent of cinnamon and fried dough, it emitted a series of jarring dings and whirs. She’d been attempting, with the usual dramatic flair and a cascade of Spanish pronouncements, to explain her predicament. This, of course, had resulted in a wave of bewildered stares and a rather alarming attempt by a stout gentleman in a tweed jacket to offer her a boiled sweet.

“*¡Ay, por favor! ¿No entienden? Soy una princesa!*” she’d cried, her voice echoing with the frustration that had become her constant companion. Her hands, usually so adept at gesturing grandly or delicately arranging a tiara, now flapped uselessly in the air, trying to convey the sheer absurdity of her situation. She was a princess, for goodness sake! A princess who, just this morning, had been contemplating the ideal dipping sauce for her *churros de chocolate*, and now… now she was surrounded by people who seemed utterly incapable of understanding the universal language of delicious fried dough.

The stout gentleman, who Elara had mentally christened ‘Mr. Tweed,’ blinked at her, his brow furrowed in a way that suggested he was trying to decipher a particularly complex riddle, possibly involving the structural integrity of a scone. “Right then,” he’d said, his voice a low rumble, “quite the… uh… performance. Are you quite sure you don’t need a lie down, dear?”
