The air in the council chamber of Umbra crackled with a tension thicker than the perpetual twilight that clung to the kingdom. Our scouts report increased patrols along the border, not with defensive intent, but with a predatory gleam. And our heir…” He paused, letting his gaze drift back to Kael, a subtle accusation hanging in the silence. “…spends an inordinate amount of time in the company of the Lumina heir. Time that could be better spent bolstering our own defenses, or perhaps, as tradition dictates, solidifying our kingdom’s strength through… other means.”

Queen Lyra’s expression remained unreadable, a mask of regal stoicism forged over centuries. Her magic, the very essence of Umbra, pulsed around her, a silent shield against Vorlag’s insinuation. “General, the alliance was forged for the survival of both our kingdoms. Elara’s presence is a necessity, not a dalliance. As for Kael’s strength, he has proven himself time and again. His methods are his own.”
