Brotherly Bonds, Shifting Sands
Clive Jackson, Krit's older brother, enters the picture. He's everything Krit isn't: charming, kind, and immediately drawn to Jaylynn's spirit, creating a stark contrast to his brother's aggressive approach.
The cacophony of the school hallways, a familiar symphony of slamming lockers and boisterous laughter, seemed to fade into a low hum as Jaylynn navigated the crowded corridors. Her gaze, though still scanning for potential threats, held a new, almost imperceptible flicker of curiosity. The initial terror of Krit Jackson’s icy stare had begun to thaw, replaced by a strange fascination with the storm brewing beneath his arrogant facade. She found herself replaying their encounters, not with fear, but with a peculiar interest in the way his eyes, dark and tempestuous, had softened, just for a fleeting moment, when she’d met his gaze head-on.
It was during lunch, as she settled at a table in a quieter corner of the cafeteria, that a new presence made itself known. A voice, smooth as polished mahogany and carrying a warmth that instantly put her at ease, cut through the ambient noise.
“Mind if I join you?”
