Chapter 12
A Shared Secret
Jaylynn and Krit share a moment of understanding, perhaps during a crisis or a quiet conversation. Krit reveals a glimpse of his true self, deepening Jaylynn's connection to him.
The air in the old gymnasium hung thick and heavy, smelling of sweat and forgotten dreams, a stark contrast to the crisp autumn breeze that had greeted Jaylynn that morning. Jaylynn caught his eye once, a fleeting, almost accidental glance, and a jolt, familiar and unsettling, ran through her. He looked away quickly, but not before she saw it – a flicker of something raw and unguarded in his stormy grey eyes, quickly masked by his practiced indifference.
