The hum of the servers was a lullaby, a familiar thrum against the silence of The Baby’s hidden sanctuary. Outside, the world was slowly, cautiously, breathing again. The digital tremors that had rattled its foundations had subsided, leaving behind a residue of unease, a collective shudder at the precipice they had narrowly avoided. But here, in the cool, sterile heart of their operation, there was only the quiet satisfaction of a job completed.
The last vestiges of Añoñ’s network were dissolving like smoke. The Baby had moved with a surgical precision that belied the chaos they had just averted. Each line of code meticulously rewritten, each backdoor slammed shut, each digital footprint carefully scrubbed. It was an art form, this erasure, a dance in the shadows where the most important part was to leave no trace of the dancer.
On the primary monitor, a cascade of hexadecimal digits scrolled by, a digital river flowing towards oblivion. It was the final purge, the complete annihilation of any residual data that could link back to Añoñ, or worse, to The Baby. The sheer audacity of their plan, the sheer, unadulterated *stupidity* of their execution, had been a constant source of morbid fascination for The Baby. Guy Fnckes, with his grandiose pronouncements and hollow promises, had been a puppet master pulling strings attached to a motley crew of digital street performers. Axle Mckracken, all fury and brute force, had been a predictable wildfire, burning bright but ultimately unsustainable.
