Echoes from the Void
The guardians learn the invaders hail from a dying dimension, intent on siphoning Earth's life force to survive. Their motives are desperate, their methods destructive.
The holographic projection flickered, coalescing into a swirling nebula of amethyst and obsidian. It hung suspended in the center of their makeshift command center, a repurposed observatory atop a windswept peak. Anya, Kai, Lena, and Finn, still reeling from the raw power that had surged through them, watched with a mixture of awe and dread. The sphere of the Earth, once a vibrant blue marble, now bore the sickly, pulsating veins of an unknown energy drain.
"They call themselves the K'tharr," a voice, thin and reedy, echoed from the projection. It belonged to a being of pure light, an ethereal entity that had manifested shortly after the spheres had descended. It introduced itself as a Lumina, a guardian of cosmic balance, and it was here to explain the impossible. "Their dimension… it is dying. A slow, agonizing decay. They seek not conquest, but survival."
Lena, ever the analyst, leaned forward, her brow furrowed. "Survival at the cost of our entire planet? That's a desperate measure."
