The desert wind, a phantom breath carrying the scent of dust and distant rain, whispered through the open window of the penthouse. Christopher watched it stir the sheer curtains, a silent dance that mirrored the quiet turmoil within him. Las Vegas, the city that had once roared with promises of limitless power, now felt like a hushed echo of his former life.
