Angela must not only subdue David but also confront the resurrected trauma of her mother's disappearance, her own motivations for justice, and the dark legacy that has haunted her life.

The air in the abandoned warehouse hung thick and still, a stale breath of mildew and forgotten industry. Dust motes danced in the slivers of light that pierced the grimy windows, illuminating the skeletal remains of machinery and the encroaching tendrils of nature reclaiming its territory. This was it. The desolate stage for a final act, a grim echo of the riverbeds where so many had met their end. Angela’s boots crunched on shattered glass and debris as she moved deeper into the cavernous space, her Glock held steady, a familiar weight in her trembling hand.

David stood near a towering, rust-streaked silo, his silhouette stark against the muted afternoon light. He wasn’t armed, not in the conventional sense, but his eyes held a dangerous glint, a chilling calm that had always unnerved her more than any weapon.
