Prince Cestro, the King's spiritual advisor, skillfully manipulates Chrisias, reinforcing his divine pronouncements. He subtly guides the King's interpretations to further his own agenda of church power.
The gilded sunlight streamed through the high, arched windows of the King’s private study, illuminating motes of dust dancing like tiny celestial bodies in the air. It was a chamber designed for contemplation, for communion with the divine, and King Chrisias found solace in its quiet sanctity. Before him, spread across the heavy oak table carved with scenes from scripture, lay a weathered scroll. His fingers, long and accustomed to the weight of a scepter, traced the ancient script, his brow furrowed in deep concentration.
Across from him sat Prince Cestro, his face a mask of serene piety, a faint, almost imperceptible smile playing on his lips. Cestro, with his flowing crimson robes and eyes that seemed to hold the wisdom of ages, was more than just a spiritual advisor; he was the King’s confidant, the conduit through which Chrisias believed the voice of God most clearly spoke.
“The inscription speaks of a ‘harvest of righteousness’,” Chrisias murmured, his voice a low rumble, echoing the reverence he felt. “It implies a severance, a pruning of the unfruitful branches. It is clear, is it not, Prince Cestro? The Lord demands we purify the land, cast out those who do not bear the fruit of His word.”
